Rules and regulations of the school
THE ENGLISH NURSERY SCHOOL
SCHOOL REGULATIONS-COMPLIANCE FORM
School fees that are paid are not refundable.
A full term’s written notice must be submitted to the school if you wish to take your child out of the school. Unless such notice is given, fees for the following term MUST BE PAID.
A 10% discount will be given to siblings (brother or sister) attending the school.
PAYMENT OF FEES
First term: September, October, November, December (4 months) installment to be paid on or before 7th of September.
Second term: January, February, March installment to be paid on or before 7th of December.
Third term: April, May, June installment to be paid on or before 7th of March.
SCHOOL FEES TRANSFER: Please be aware that upon transferring school fees towards the school’s bank account, that you specify your full name under the ‘Transfer details’. The school also requires a hard copy of this transfer to consider the school fees paid.
RE-ENROLMENTS: Registration fee and deposit to be paid by the 30th of January. No amount paid is refundable.
SUMMER SCHOOL (optional): Installment to be paid on or before 10th of May.
ENGLISH AFTERNOON LESSONS (4-9 years old).If interested please ask for more information.
ENROLMENTS Parents should fill in the ‘Child’s Personal Form’. A copy of the pupil’s birth certificate, a recent health certificate, an immunization record and a small photograph must accompany the Child’s Personal Form.
PRIORITY Due to the number of limited places available, priority is given to children who are enrolled first.
RE-ENROLMENTS In order to keep your child’s place for the new school year a registration fee and deposit must be paid by the last day of January of the current school year. This amount is not refundable.
SCHOOL BOOKS Parents must pay for any books requested by the school.
SCHOOL REPORTS Reports are given three times a year and parents are invited to the school to discuss their child’s progress.
School uniforms should be purchased from the school.
Winter uniform: Tracksuit (with school logo).
Summer uniform: T- shirt & shorts (with school logo).
The uniform must be worn on all school outings and official school functions but can also be worn at any other time.
ATTENDANCE The school operates from September-June, five days a week.
SCHOOL HOURS: 7:15 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Mondays to Fridays
TEACHING HOURS: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Pupils are requested to be regular and punctual when attending the school.
Children who stay for lunch must be collected promptly by 3:00 p.m.
The Baby and Toddlers Units have a more relaxed and flexible timetable due to age needs.
ILLNESS In case of a contagious illness, children must remain at home until fully recovered. A doctor’s note confirming full recovery must be submitted before the child is allowed to return to the school.
SAFETY/SECURITY The school operates an external surveillance camera system. No entrance is accepted to the school’s premises without permission (provided by the child’s Parent/Guardian).
MOST IMPORTANT The school must be notified if any person, other than the parents, will be collecting a child from school. It is advisable that the name and brief description of the person collecting the child are given to the School. Parents should not leave children at the school premises if there is no teacher in attendance at the time.
REGULATIONS POLICY Please read the English Nursery School Regulations Booklet carefully, and sign and return the attached compliance form to the school. Please keep the “Regulations” booklet handy for future reference.
AWARENESS OF CHILD BEHAVIOURAL ABNORMALITIES While children can display a wide range of behavioural problems in school (from disciplinary to emotional outbursts), if the school considers that your child displays signs of severe abnormal behaviour (that could be a sign of a more serious issue), we will promptly inform the parents and request their cooperation in effectively dealing with these issues.
EXAMPLES OF CHILD BEHAVIOURAL ABNORMALITIES
• Difficulty managing emotional outburst
• Difficulty managing impulses
• Behaviour that does not respond to discipline
• Behaviour that underlines behavioural disorder
• Behaviour that interferes with social interaction
• Self-injury/attacks to others
DATA PRIVACY We would like to inform you that we seek authorization to use your family’s personal information for school purposes and whenever it’s legally required by any Cyprus Government Departments. This will ensure your compliance with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). Please refer to the ‘ENS Confidential Application Form’.
CONSENT FACEBOOK/WEBPAGE We would like to inform you that we have a Facebook page and website. As such, we require your permission to add photos of your child/children. Please indicate in the ‘ENS Confidential Application Form’, if you agree or disagree for The English Nursery School to upload photos that depict your child/children.
FOOD CATERING SERVICE We would like to inform you that our school has an outsourced food catering service which is approved by the Ministry of Education (in Cyprus). If this interests you, please see your classroom’s teacher.
SCHOOL HOLIDAYS We would like to clarify that the school follows the legal schedule of school holidays followed by private English speaking schools in Cyprus. The Baby Unit (of the school) follows the public school’s holidays-schedule.
SEMINARS The school organizes and offers seminars that promote parenthood in cooperation with the Pedagogical Institute of Cyprus and other professionals. Seminars are offered during working hours and include workshops that involve the children. We would like to urge Parents or any other family member to participate within these.
